2. Types of Fire Extinguishers

Extinguishers shall be selected based on hazard classification:

• ABC Dry Chemical Powder (DCP)
  • Multi-purpose (Class A, B, C fires)
  • Most commonly specified for commercial buildings
• CO (Carbon Dioxide)
  • For electrical panels, server rooms
• Water / Foam Type
  • For Class A fires (wood, paper, fabric)
• Clean Agent (e.g., FM-200 / Novec)
  • For sensitive equipment areas (data centers, labs)

Typical sizes:

• 2 kg / 4 kg / 6 kg light hazard areas
• 9 kg standard commercial use
• 4.5 kg CO electrical applications

5. Mounting Requirements
